To the boy with lovely eyes
and all the weight of the world
on his shoulders,
I‘m sorry I‘m about to take up
too much of your time.
I know it‘s probably too late…
but just in case
you still want to know,
this is how I loved you.

Kathleen Marie Jao rated it it was amazingNo one can describe love and heartbreak as intense and profound as Nessie Q. does. She is truly gifted with that ability to captivate her readers with her poetry using words so simple yet can either make, change or break your heart.
Choosing my favorite poem in the book proves to be one difficult task as I have come to love them all. Every flip of each page, every line, the train of thoughts… Everything was written so beautifully that I always found myself sighing or at the verge of crying. That’s how powerful and insanely good this book is. It will penetrate your soul, sear and shatter you into pieces, and make you wallow in your sorrows until you find yourself again… whole, like you’ve never been broken before.
Nessie Q. is one author every avid reader must watch out for. There is definitely no doubt that she has put her all (her heart, soul, blood, sweat and tears) into this book and I am thankful for she has decided to share her God-given talent to the world. Hope she keeps the passion burning and I am indeed looking forward to reading more of her works in the future.
Diana rated it it was amazing ·Nessie was one of the first people I followed on Instagram ( @iseenessie ). Her words touched my soul and I was instantly hooked. She has a simplistic style that I really appreciate, there’s an ease when reading her words but the impact on my mind and heart are huge. I’ve been waiting patiently for her to release this collection of poems. When she gave me an ARC I was beyond ecstatic and I couldn’t wait to dive in.
Where do I start?! Each poem flowed so beautifully into the next and each part of this book pulled me in deeper and deeper. I loved how she had separate parts within the book. I could really grasp what she was trying to convey in each part with the opening lines. As I turned every page, the pieces of writing were getting darker and darker. I loved how I got to see the progression of heartbreak through her writing.
This is one of my favourite parts: “I hate you isn’t always I hate you. I hate you is the love that you felt, lost in translation, dipped in poison.”
I’m Sorry. I Know It’s Too Late… But This is How I Loved You is simply beautiful, there’s no other words I would use to describe it. Yes, it’s dark and heartbreaking but I savoured every minute of it.
